I like spiders, because they feed on flies which I hate, I won't kill a spider

Yeah Tommy but flies do a job too, they lay eggs on a dead animal and then the maggots feed on it and it cleans up and gives the fishermen food for the fish, Flies do a good job and are cleverer that Me and thee because,

when the World ends there will be 3 things left, Ruins . Keef Richards and flies

That's telling 'em Tom but you know, if they pay rent (by getting rid of your flies) you're supposed to give them 30 days notice to quit, or be evicted!

I'm loathe to kill any creature, but when you have an infestation of fruit flies it needs to be done. I'm not happy about it though.

I also have ' trail cameras' around my property and, as of yet, there is no evidence of them,

Aw that's disappointing. Is it possible they may have re-located? I must admit I don't know much about their habits, or any other hibernating animals come to that. You'll have more idea than me.

Like most animals they are led by smell, they can detect where is a save area and where is food, They will trace their parents steps by instinct so if even if my last family was wiped out, The offsprings will find my ' safe house' sometime, A creature will only go where it feels safe,

"A creature will only go where it feels safe."

Now that, I am very much aware of. I've lost count of how many cats have decided to take up residence in my home. My latest used to live next door but one, but she decided she'd prefer to be with me, and that's where she still is after about three years.

Sorry, don't mean to go off-topic, but your comment inspired me to make that contribution through years of experience.

Have you taken a peek into where they rested up for the winter?

Tom

It has been a bit of a cold winter, and it has not warmed up yet, although apparently that warm up is imminent, the buds have only just started to show on the trees in the last few days, so I think that Spring is a bit late this year, so your hedgehogs are probably just having a lie in, until it warms up a bit, because if it is still cold, then there will be no bugs for them to feed on

I'm glad you liked the video Girls,, yes Tommy tee I too think its not warm enough yet but, I've just been doing some stuff in my green house and I heard a LOUD buzzing and I looked around and there was the biggest ever bumble bee looking round for a way out, So I opened the door and gently escorted it out throu the door . He then bided me farewell and took off into the trees, I think that is a good sign that it is warming up,

cut him some slack Mollie, he might be late but he's putting a good shift in tonight, He was in the greenhouse at 8.30 for the ' low hanging fruit' then into the garden for the bugs . slugs and snails and he's still going at it and will be until bed time tomorrow, Day break. So he's earing his keep and soon he'll be getting frisky and his lady friends seem to know where to come for his attention and before you know it, I'm over run with kids who need feeding, A busy year ahead for me, Time to get out the hedgehog traffic warden

You're a good person, Tom. Anyone who loves animals the way you do is good enough for me. Let's face it, they were all here before we were, so they should all be respected, and cared for. Makes you wonder why they came first instead of us.

Thank you Mollie. you are obviously a very perceptive lady and a light sleeper as your post above was made at 04:41 which is a time of day that I only see if I'm catching a flight or doing a car boot sale,

Tony was't impressed, he must have turned round at the entrance and went back out, I know he was ' on the plot' because he was seen at feed station 2 in the greenhouse and ate all the food there, So a lesson learned to me,
